Can I translate the platform into another language?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, you can! Using our\u00a0Translations Toolkit<\/strong>\u00a0you can translate the text of the platform into any language.<\/p>\n

But that’s not all the Translations Toolkit can do. You can also use it to change specific terminology to better fit the needs of your business. For example, you can use\u00a0Cases<\/em>\u00a0instead of\u00a0Projects<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Subjects<\/em>\u00a0instead of\u00a0Contacts<\/em>. You have the power to rewrite practically any text in the platform, right down to the most obscure error message.<\/p>\n

Right now our Translations tool is in\u00a0beta<\/strong>, which means it has not yet reached its fullest potential. But don’t worry – our team is constantly working behind the scenes with the goal of giving you the power to change every single shred of text.<\/p>\n

We now offer\u00a0Language Sets<\/strong>\u00a0that you can choose to translate the entire platform at the click of a button! You can then tweak any of the strings to your liking.<\/p>\n

How do I use Translations?<\/strong><\/p>\n

IMPORTANT: Words that you see in curly brackets (e.g. {CLIENT}) need to be left intact and cannot be translated. These are Placeholders that automatically populate the correct term, which can be found in the “Roles” group. Attempting to translate these Placeholders will break them.<\/p>\n

Navigate to\u00a0Flyout Menu > Translations (beta)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

You’ll first need to\u00a0enable translation functionality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Before translating strings and\/or choosing a Language Set it’s important to learn how the Translations Toolkit works. Read about it in the sections below.<\/p>\n

How do I find and change words\/phrases?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the\u00a0Translation Filter<\/strong>\u00a0section, you’ll see a\u00a0search field. Type the word or phrase you are looking for. The results will be organized into\u00a0Groups<\/strong>, shown as tabs, to the left of the screen.<\/p>\n

TIP: It’s very helpful to click the\u00a0Hide Empty Groups<\/strong>\u00a0check box. This will hide all of the Groups in which your targeted phrase does not appear, thus making it easier to find.<\/p>\n

Then, you can click through the\u00a0Groups\u00a0<\/strong>and modify the targeted word\/phrase as needed.<\/p>\n

Type the translation or alternative word\/phrase in the field below the original then click the\u00a0\u00a0Save Group<\/strong>\u00a0button at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n

To the right of each field is a\u00a0padlock icon<\/strong>. By default, all fields will be unlocked. If you would like to keep a translated string even after applying a Language Set you can click the icon to lock the field. Click the icon beside the\u00a0Group Translations<\/strong>\u00a0text to lock the entire section.<\/p>\n

As a general rule, you should always click the\u00a0Clear Cache<\/strong>\u00a0button near the top of the page once you are finished with your changes. This will ensure that the changes you have made will appear on the platform for all users.<\/p>\n

How can I access Language Sets and Additional Settings?<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you enable Translations tabs will appear on the right side of the screen.<\/p>\n

Click the icon shown above to choose from\u00a0\u00a0Language Sets<\/strong>\u00a0you can use.<\/p>\n

You can use the\u00a0Search<\/strong>\u00a0field to find the particular language that you would like to use.<\/p>\n

Then, click the\u00a0\u00a0Load<\/strong>\u00a0button beside the desired language. This will apply the language translation to your platform and will overwrite any strings that are not protected by the\u00a0locked\u00a0padlock icon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click the tab shown above to enable or disable\u00a0Multi-Language Support<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once your Translations have been configured, you can use this option to display a choice between the default fresh-out-of-the-package English text or your customized text to all users in the platform.<\/p>\n

When your user logs in they can go to\u00a0\u00a0Flyout Menu > My Profile\/Settings<\/strong>\u00a0or they can click\u00a0Edit Profile<\/strong>\u00a0in the main menu.<\/p>\n

At the bottom of the\u00a0\u00a0Basic Info<\/strong>\u00a0section, there will be a\u00a0Translation<\/strong>\u00a0dropdown menu in which they can choose from the default or configured setting.<\/p>\n

How do I translate the Menu Items?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In general, the Menu Items are a special case and cannot be changed via the Translations tool.\u00a0You’ll need to use\u00a0\u00a0Custom Menus<\/strong>\u00a0to change them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0to learn about Custom Menus<\/em><\/p>\n

The one exception to this is the\u00a0Pages<\/strong>\u00a0menu item. What you can change in Custom Menus is actually only what Staff\/Internals see and not what Contacts\/Externals see.<\/p>\n

To change the name of the Contacts\/External\u00a0Page<\/strong>\u00a0menu item type “pages” in the search field and click the\u00a0Pages Group<\/strong>. The correct field to edit is shown below.<\/p>\n

How do I reset my Translation configurations to Default?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you need to wipe clean your configured Translations you can do so by clicking the\u00a0Reset to Default<\/strong>\u00a0button near the top of the screen.<\/p>\n

This will\u00a0permanently remove any changes you have made<\/strong>\u00a0and revert it back to the default, out-of-the-box text throughout the platform.<\/p>\n

IMPORTANT: This option cannot be undone. Once this action has been taken you will be unable to recover any work you have put into your Translations so please use with caution!<\/p>\n

Can I change the names of Staff & Contact Roles using Translation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, you can use the Translation feature to change the name of specific Roles.<\/p>\n

In the Translation Dashboard, select the “Roles” Translation Group on the left side.<\/p>\n
