What is a Project?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A\u00a0Project<\/strong>\u00a0is an organized plan to achieve a business objective. Projects have an end goal that you can track completion on which can optionally be broken down into\u00a0Tasks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Every Project requires a\u00a0Client<\/strong>. As a staple feature of the platform, t are many settings related to Projects, including just how much involvement you would like the Client to have in the Project.<\/p>\n

TIP: If your Project isn’t related to a Client you can use a “dummy client” in place of a real one. You can read about how to create a Test Client\u00a0.<\/p>\n

How do I create a Project?<\/strong><\/p>\n

To get started, navigate to\u00a0Projects > Projects<\/strong>\u00a0and click the\u00a0+Add Project<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

BASIC INFO<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

From this page, you have a series of fields and options to create your\u00a0\u00a0Project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Project Name:<\/strong>\u00a0The title of the Project, which can be seen by all users assigned, including Clients.<\/p>\n

Status:<\/strong>\u00a0You can choose from a list of default Statuses from the dropdown menu, or you can create your own with Content Categories.<\/p>\n

Project Start Date:<\/strong>\u00a0An optional field, if you would like to set an official start date for reference.<\/p>\n

Estimated Completion Date:<\/strong>\u00a0An optional field, your best assessment of a completion date.<\/p>\n

Target Time:<\/strong>\u00a0An optional time of day to be used in conjunction with the Estimated Completion Date. You can choose a time from the dropdown menu, in increments of 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Project Description:<\/strong>\u00a0A description of the Project which will NOT be visible to the Client.<\/p>\n

Client’s Project Info:<\/strong>\u00a0Information for the Client to see, and NOT your Staff.<\/p>\n

CLIENT ASSIGNMENT<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A\u00a0\u00a0Client<\/strong>\u00a0is required for every Project that is created. You can also quickly create a new Client by clicking the\u00a0+Add Client\u00a0<\/strong>button.<\/p>\n

You can also assign\u00a0Secondary Clients<\/strong>\u00a0who will have limited access to the Project.<\/p>\n

PROJECT ASSIGNMENTS<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Assign at least one\u00a0\u00a0Teammate<\/strong>\u00a0(single Staff Member) or\u00a0Team<\/strong>\u00a0(group of multiple Staff Members) to the Project through the dropdown menu.<\/p>\n

You can also assign a user as the\u00a0Project Leader<\/strong>.\u00a0The Project Leader will handle all Task Approvals\/Completions within the Project<\/p>\n

Only a Super Admin, Admin, or Project Manager can be assigned as Project Leader.<\/p>\n

If these fields are left blank, the user who is creating the Project will be assigned, and will also be designated the Project Leader.<\/p>\n

TIP:\u00a0You as a user (that you are logged in as) will not appear as an option in the dropdown menu, as you will automatically be assigned to the\u00a0Project\u00a0you create.<\/p>\n

TASK\/PHASE GENERATION<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

You can choose to apply a\u00a0\u00a0Task Template<\/strong>\u00a0to the Project during creation. This will generate predefined Tasks and Phases.<\/p>\n

By default, the due dates for the Tasks and Phases generated from a Task Template will be based on the\u00a0creation date<\/strong>\u00a0of the Project. You can instead use the Date Picker to select a different\u00a0Based on Date<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

PROJECT ECONOMICS<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Choose a\u00a0\u00a0Business Sector<\/strong>\u00a0you have created in\u00a0Project Settings<\/strong>. A Business Sector is a classification that you can customize.<\/p>\n

You can also specify an estimated value of the Project by inputting a number in the field and choosing your currency from the dropdown menu.<\/p>\n

If you want to calculate the value of the Project based on\u00a0time spent<\/strong>, check the respective box. Before marking a Task as Complete, the assignee will be required to input the time spent.<\/p>\n

PROJECT AUTOMATIONS<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

By default, the Project will not automatically be set to Complete when all Tasks are Complete, and vice-versa. you can enable this logic.<\/p>\n
